Boys Varsity Wrestling vs. Multiple Opponents

The Wood River Wrestlers are off to a solid start for the season as they wrestled against Minico, Filer, and Gooding. Against Minico, Grant Green and Jacob Drummond started the night off with 2 consecutive pins at the 98 and 106 pound weight classes. Asher Stern won an exciting overtime match scoring the winning takedown in the first extra round at the 145 lb weight class. Drake Humphreys also scored a pin at 182 lbs. Minico ultimately won the match 23-21. Wood River lost to Filer in the second dual of the night (30-42) but managed to defeat Gooding in the final dual of the night 42-36. Several young wrestlers showed a lot of courage and wrestled their first high school matches. Among them were Michael Hurd, Daniel Servin, Olin Patterson, and Sawyer Newhouse. JP Goulet scored points in his first dual when the other teams forfeited at his weight class.
