Congratulations WRHS Cheerleaders! 17 of Wood River High School’s Varsity Cheerleaders competed in three different divisions at districts on Feb 7th in Pocatello, at Highland High School. They have been working very hard since December on these difficult, intense, and high energy routines. These kids practice at 6 am every day and then cheer at games in the evenings. They are very dedicated athletes and did fantastic at districts. They placed third in their most difficult routine called the Show Cheer, which incorporates 2.5 minutes full of stunts, tumbling, cheer, dance, motions, jumps, spirit and lots of teamwork. They also competed in two other routines, a 1 minute Pom Routine (dance/jumps only) and a 1 minute Sideline Cheer with jumps, stunts, and props. They placed well in both of these divisions taking 6th place. We have a brand new team that is only in its second year and coaches Amanda Wilson and Heidi Kaminski are so proud of this new team and all their hard work and dedication. Our cheerleaders are very talented and have come so far this year and have overcome many obstacles as a team. Wood River is so lucky to have the support from all of these wonderful student athletes. They are wrapping up their 2019-2020 season that started last April and are proudly graduating 7 seniors this June. Great job Wood River Cheerleaders!!!
