Congratulations to Sascha Leidecker and Aidan  Burchmore, who qualified to the national tournament in PF debate (Resolved: The  United States should replace means-tested welfare programs with a universal basic income) over the weekend. In a crowded and competitive field, they placed in the top three.    Congratulations also to Davey Schrader, who secured the second alternate spot in both Big Questions debate (Resolved: Objective morality exists.) and international extemp.    Sophomore Meg Keating earned a second alternate berth in Lincoln Douglas debate (Resolved:  States ought  to eliminate their nuclear arsenals).  Doing this well as a sophomore is a big deal!   It was a long weekend, but we had fun and learned a lot.

We took a small squad to Meridian last weekend, where Davey Schrader placed second in Extemporaneous speaking, his best finish ever! Both of our Public Forum teams went 3-1. Nicole Hidalgo/Josie Gilman and Sascha/Svea Leidecker. It was Josie and Svea's first time doing this event! Next we travel back to the same area Feb. 7th. Thanks as ever for your support.
