Wolverines Lose: -
This past weekend our riders displayed grit and perseverance as they navigated the double and single track lines at Jug Mountain, in McCall, Id. Our team had great finishes with many landing on the podium. Please give a shout-out to all our riders as they are racing hard each weekend. October 1st is our next race in Pocatello, Id. The course will be the most challenging yet with 900 feet of climbing (that means 900 feet of ripping downhill single track) on a five-mile course. Most riders will leave Friday in order to pre-ride the course and prepare for the race. At the high school races, our 9th-grade girls took a respectable 1st and 2nd as Mazzy Conners took gold with Ella Shaughnessy taking silver. Clair Shiver had an awesome race taking 14th. JV2 witnessed Ripley Scales (in her first race) taking 4th overall with Sake Quesnel placing 16th in a tough field. JV1 Girls placed Malia Foley (5th) just in front of her good friend Ashley Eggers (6th). Sadie Rector had to dropped out due to an injury. Our varsity girls had a tough day at Jug with Paige DeHart taking 7th and Ashley Grohusky in 7th. Eloise Pendl-Herbert fell ill just before the race and could not start. Our boys Freshman Team had a solid performance with Rayce Nelson in 11th, Wyatt Crego in 12th, Wyatt Dunn taking 13th and Ben Gross in 17th. Orrie DeShields took 50th, Luke Miller in 53rd, Charles Rollins in 59th, Chris Perez in 61st, Austin McMahan in 67, and McKay Wilson in 69th. Wyatt VanDiver started in last place for JV2 and passed 66 riders to 6th place overall, with Aleczander Hanks a few spots behind in 13th, Beckham Settle in 31st, and David Mandeville in 54th. JV1 had some serious competition with Owen Thompson placing an impressive 23rd, Zach Quesnel in 25th, Colton Hairston in 27th, and Tanner Hairston in 41st. Clayton Elsbree was taken out by another rider and had to leave the race. Sticking to his strategy, and getting closer in time to first place, Oliver Smith placed 3rd in Varsity with Holden Archie in 6th, Gavin Smart in 12th, and Hayden Wilson in 14th. Dexter Morrison had to leave the race due to health challenges
